A display held across the waters off Otsu Port in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. Approx. 12000 shells vividly color the summer night sky and lake surface. Celebrating its 40th milestone since the first event in 1984, this anniversary edition introduces a first-ever two-part format. Part 1 features new performances combining drone shows, laser beams, music, and fireworks, while Part 2 showcases classic fireworks beloved in past events, including the signature large angled shells. Set against Lake Biwa surrounded by mountains, the three-dimensional use of the lake surface and night sky offers a charm that cannot be experienced at other venues.
