Summary

Nagahama takes an unusual format: three consecutive fireworks nights, September 16-18, each a compact 20 minutes from 20:00, fired over Lake Biwa off Toyokoen — the castle park tied to Toyotomi Hideyoshi's rise. Shells burst low over the water, their light spilling down the lake surface. Paid S, A and sheet seating faces the bay, while a stall village of roughly 25 vendors opens to everyone each evening. A sister show, Yogo-no-Jin, follows on Lake Yogo on October 16.

Overview

The eight-minute walk from JR Nagahama Station is the event's quiet superpower. By car it is about 15 minutes from the Hokuriku Expressway Nagahama IC, with roughly 380 spaces at the park. Tickets sell through Webket: S seats (6,000 yen) are gone, while A seats (3,000 yen) and sheet seats (1,500 yen) remain. Stormy weather cancels the night, and umbrellas are not allowed in the seats even in rain, so pack a rain jacket. The stall village runs 17:00-21:15 with last orders at 21:00. Seats are unreserved within each type, entry is by QR code, and re-entry is allowed with a wristband. With three consecutive nights, basing yourself in Nagahama and catching more than one show is a genuinely workable plan.
