The Minato Maizuru Chatta Fireworks Festival launches about 4,000 shells over the East District shoreline on July 26, 19:30–20:10. Named after the Maizuru dialect word 'chatta', the show features 'Minna no Hanabi' — fireworks donated through resident fundraising — as well as star-mines and varied programs over the harbor. From JR Higashi-Maizuru Station the venue is a 15-minute walk, or about 15 minutes by car from Maizuru-Higashi IC. Traffic restrictions apply around the site on the day and parking is limited, so trains are the recommended way in. Arrive about an hour before the start: spots along the beach fill early, and the food stalls mostly take cash.
