The Tenryo-san Kute Fireworks Festival launches 5,000 shells from Kute Port in Oda City, Shimane, on August 4, 20:30–21:20, before a crowd of about 30,000. Fired from the harbor pier facing the Sea of Japan, the shells mirror on the water and line up against the ridgeline of the cape. The same-day festival adds a fishing-boat parade, a floating-lantern ceremony and rows of food stalls.
