Hiroshima's summer signature, 'Minato Yume Hanabi — Fireworks Museum', fires some 10,000 shells — oversized stars, star mines and music-synced bursts — over the 10,000-ton wharf at Hiroshima Port on 25 July, 20:00–21:00. Last year drew about 450,000 visitors. No venue parking: reach the site by streetcar (43 minutes from JR Hiroshima Station, 15 minutes' walk from Kaigan-dori stop) or the planned paid shuttle bus.

Overview

Themed on 'dreams', the programme layers music-synced fireworks over the harbour, where the port's night lights and the sea surface double every launch. With around 450,000 attendees on last year's count, this is one of western Japan's largest summer shows. There is no parking at the venue, so the streetcar from Hiroshima Station (about 43 minutes to Kaigan-dori, then 15 minutes on foot) or the paid shuttle bus is the way in. Harbour-side walkways pack solid with crowds, so build generous time margins into the day — arriving 2–3 hours before the 20:00 start is the comfortable play.
