Summary
The Kikugawa Summer Festival held in Kikugawa-cho, Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, is a summer festival that has been held grandly every year since 1968 (Showa 43), and will celebrate its 59th edition in 2026. The traditional Yasaka Shrine festival 'Arakoda Gion Festival' is also held at the same time. The festival venue is around Kikugawa Fureai Hall, opening at 4:00 PM, with stage events such as dances and musical performances by local groups. In addition, bazaars are held, drawing large crowds of tourists every year.
