A historic fireworks festival held in Ogōri, Yamaguchi City, dating back to the late Meiji era. It was temporarily suspended with the opening of the Shinkansen but resumed in 1979 (Showa 54), and 2026 marks the 48th edition. A variety of events are held including the Kangen-sai festival, Iwato drums, and various dances. Approx. 3000 shells of fireworks are launched, making it a beloved local summer tradition.
