Summary

The theme of this year's 'Onmaku' is 'NOSTALGIA.' Set against Imabari Port, approximately 10,000 shells are launched in five parts, making it one of the largest fireworks displays in the Chugoku-Shikoku region. The fireworks cap off the two-day Imabari Citizens' Festival 'Onmaku,' with wide-spectacle effects utilizing the long breakwater and fireworks synchronized to music that vividly color the night sky. The climax features 100 consecutive shaku-dama (large shells), living up to the name 'Onmaku' — a local Imabari dialect word meaning 'overwhelmingly abundant' — with a breathtaking scene where the entire field of vision is filled with fireworks.
