Held on the Shimanto River, often called Japan's last clear stream, in Shimanto City, Kochi. This cool summer fireworks display closes out the Shimanto Citizens' Festival, which heralds the arrival of summer in little Kyoto, Nakamura. Music and fireworks perform together, with star mines and colorful shells—approx. 6000 shells in all—launched in rapid, breathtaking succession.
