The Ashiya Fireworks Festival 2026 fills the mouth of the Onga River in Ashiya Town, Fukuoka on July 25, 2026, running 8:00-9:00 pm. One of the prefecture's most storied displays, it traces its history to the Taisho era. Shells fire in rapid succession from barges moored on the river, with large-diameter pieces and underwater fireworks adding variety, and food stalls line the venue. Access runs from JR Orio Station by bus (about 25 minutes to Yamaga Post Office stop, then 5 minutes on foot). Boat Race Ashiya opens its 5,000-space lot free of charge as temporary parking for the day.
