Marking its 39th edition in 2026, the Kanmon Straits Fireworks Display is the only event in Japan held across a strait spanning a prefectural border, with a total of approx. 18000 shells launched from both Moji in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, and Shimonoseki in Yamaguchi. Highlights on the Moji side include rapid-fire large shells and music fireworks, while the Shimonoseki side features 1.5-shaku large shells and underwater fireworks. As in the previous year, there will be no free areas around the venue in 2026; only those who purchase sponsorship tickets for Moji Port environmental improvement and beautification may enter the viewing areas.
