Kama City Ichiyajo Fireworks Festival

Summary

An autumn tradition held in Kama City, Fukuoka. On the final day of the 'Ichiyajo Festival' held every November, approximately 1000 shells are launched from around the Nakamasu Water Treatment Plant starting at 19:30, coloring the night sky. The Ichiyajo Festival is an event based on the legend of the 'One-Night Castle' said to have been built in a single night by Toyotomi Hideyoshi during the Sengoku period. A roughly 16-meter-tall model castle installed on Mt. Masutomi is illuminated, creating a fantastical atmosphere.
