About 1,000 fireworks rise over the levee area of Mutugoro Park in Ogi City, Saga Prefecture, on Saturday, August 1, 2026, 20:00–21:00, as part of the Mutugoro Kingdom Ashikari Summer Festival. Overview

The Mutugoro Kingdom Ashikari Summer Festival follows the Okinoshima-mairi, a harvest-prayer observance of some 400 years' standing. On Saturday, August 1, 2026, kindergartners' dance and a local performing arts contest start things off at 6:30 p.m., and from 20:00 to 21:00 a thousand shells color the sky above the Mutugoro Park levee. When the fireworks end, the Okinoshima-mairi procession sets out to young drummers beating the taiko furi. The venue is about 15 minutes by taxi from JR Kushima Station, or ten minutes by car from the Ashikari-Minami IC on the Ariake Sea Coastal Road. On the day, free shuttle buses connect the Ashibaru parking lot and the venue from 18:00 (first bus from Ashibaru) to 22:00 (last bus from the venue). Free parking for 500 cars is available around Fureai Park, and food stalls line the grounds.
