Summary

The 'Iki Island Night Sky Festival (Katsumoto Noryo Fireworks Display)' is held during Obon at Katsumoto Port, the northernmost point of Iki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, and is a historic fireworks festival with nearly 50 years of tradition. The viewing area is close to the launch site, and the reverberation from the port's unique topography amplifies the sound's intensity. Approximately 2,000 shells are launched, and the large shells in particular are so powerful that you can feel the blast pressure on your body.
