The 73rd Shisa Town Noryo Fireworks Display

Summary

A fireworks festival held annually on August 15 in Matsuura City, Nagasaki Prefecture. From around 19:30, spirit boats depart from in front of Hotel Amista, parading through the Shisa shopping street to the sound of firecrackers and Matsuura taiko drums. Then, from around 20:30, approximately 1,000 shells are launched over 20 minutes, marking the end of Obon. In case of stormy weather, only the fireworks will be postponed to Monday, August 17, 2026.
