Fireworks are launched as part of the 'Uto Jizo Festival' in Uto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, which is said to have begun about 370 years ago. The 'Uto Jizo Festival' is one of the three great summer festivals of Higo, alongside the 'Kawashiri Shoro Nagashi' and 'Yamaga Lantern Festival.'
