A fireworks competition where pyrotechnicians from across Japan, from Akita in the north to Kagoshima in the south, compete in skill. Held at the Kumagawa Riverside Green Space in Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture, this marks the 39th edition. Attracting over 300,000 visitors annually, the event features competition fireworks such as 5-gou shells, 10-gou shells, and star mines, along with opening fireworks, music-synchronized musical fireworks, and sponsored fireworks launched in succession, coloring the night sky for about 2 hours and 15 minutes. Local product exhibitions and food stalls also line the venue, making it a night to fully enjoy not only the fireworks but also the charm of the region.
