Summary
A fireworks display held on the first day of the Yufuin Basin Festival, taking place annually on August 15 and 16 in Yufuin Town, Yufu City, Oita Prefecture. A summer tradition that dyes the rural landscape of the Yufuin Basin in summer colors. Large shells (shakudama) and other fireworks are planned to enliven the festival. On the 15th, the 'Kōjōsai' (Locust-Repelling Festival) and fireworks display are held, and on the 16th, the Bon Dance Festival takes place.
