Sujiyu Onsen Yukemuri Yume Fireworks

Summary

A White Day fireworks festival held in the Sujiyu Onsen district of Kokonoe Town, Oita Prefecture, at an altitude of approx. 1000 meters. Each year, fireworks equal to the year number are launched (2026 shells in 2026). As part of the 'Kokonoe Fireworks Relay' passing the baton from Hosenji Onsen in February, visitors can enjoy fireworks launched into the night sky alongside the charm of 'Utaseyu,' the symbol of the hot spring town. Food trucks will be on site, and the powerful fireworks launched almost directly overhead from near the public parking lot offer a beauty unique to the clear, high-altitude sky. Overnight guests and day-trippers alike are welcome, making this a winter tradition filled with heartfelt hospitality and gratitude.
