Summary

Ontasai is a rice planting festival with approximately 1,000 years of history held in Misato Town, Higashiusuki District, Miyazaki Prefecture. The festival has continued since the Heian period and is held as an important event to pray for the prosperity of local agriculture. At the eve celebration, approximately 1,000 fireworks are launched, coloring the night sky with loud echoes through the mountains, announcing the arrival of summer in Miyazaki. From 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the "Furusato Umaimon Hiroba" (local gourmet plaza) opens near the "Toshinokami Shrine Parking Lot" near the venue, where you can enjoy local cuisine.
