Summary

[※Only the event dates have been updated with 2026 information. Details for scheduled events will be updated as they are finalized.] Held each October at the Kannonike Park Free Plaza in Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture, this is one of Kyushu's largest fireworks festivals. The display features approximately 12,900 shells, a number chosen to match the Japanese wordplay for 'good meat' (ii-niku). Miyakonojo City is known as Japan's top 'meat town,' with the highest combined production value of beef cattle, pigs, and chicken, and the concurrently held 'Miyakonojo Yakiniku Carnival' is very popular. This is a charming event that colors the long autumn nights, where you can enjoy magnificent fireworks after savoring local delicious meat and shochu. Free shuttle buses are planned, ensuring smooth access to the venue (check the official website for routes, etc.).
