Summary

Held above the Hitotsuse River, which flows through a narrow valley in Nishimera Village, Koyu District, Miyazaki Prefecture, this fireworks festival sends roaring echoes through the gorge as approximately 5,000 shells boom across the valley. Since there is no high school in the area, fireworks designed by 9th graders who will leave Nishimera Village upon graduation are specially launched, reflecting the creativity of local students. Additionally, unique to Nishimera, 'Karikobozu' fireworks (modeled after the forest spirits of the Mera region) and folk tale storytelling between fireworks displays enliven the venue, creating a distinctive atmosphere. *Contents are subject to change.
