At the 'Furusato Osumi Festival' held annually in Osumi Town, Soo City, Kagoshima Prefecture, approximately 1,100 shells of fireworks light up the night sky over a 10-minute display. This region is known for the legend of 'Yagorodon,' said to be Japan's largest giant who built friendly relations with humans. The festival features 'Osumi Yagoro Taiko' drumming and entertainment and song shows by local performers, along with various other programs. In case of stormy weather, it will be postponed to the following day, the 26th (Sun).
