Visibility Guide
Mount Fuji is most visible during winter months (December-February) when the air is clear and dry. Early morning hours typically offer the best visibility. Summer months bring more clouds and humidity, reducing visibility significantly.
The north side (Kawaguchiko, Yamanakako) offers classic views with lake reflections. The south side (Fujinomiya, Gotemba) provides closer proximity views. Each location has different characteristics depending on season and time of day.
Early morning (sunrise to 9 AM) consistently offers the best visibility. Afternoon haze and thermal updrafts reduce visibility significantly. Winter clear days after cold fronts pass are ideal.
The visibility score is rated 1 to 10, for reference only. A high score does not guarantee you will see Mount Fuji — actual visibility depends on your position, sight line, and transient cloud cover.
